CREATIVE LOOK AT WATER, A (433-0AP) $14.95

Students in grades 2-4 will think and learn creatively about an amazing natural resource-water. The 6 units include Water Sources, Uses, Pollution, Conservation, Properties, and Filtration. Each background story is followed by discussion questions; creative-thinking questions and creative activities, providing differentiation for gifted students in the regular classroom. Also are experiments based upon some of the topics discussed. An explanation of the scientific investigation model and a template are provided. A culminating activity is a research unit which includes the steps to a successful research project.

Grades 2-4.

Write routinely over extended time frames (time for research, reflection, and revision) and shorter time frames (a single sitting or a day or two) for a range of discipline-specific tasks, purposes, and audiences. 



Engage effectively in a range of collaborative discussions, building on others’ ideas and expressing their own clearly. 

Determine the main ideas and supporting details of a text read aloud or information presented in diverse media and formats, including visually, quantitatively, and orally. 



Report on a topic or text, tell a story, or recount an experience with appropriate facts and relevant, descriptive details, speaking clearly at an understandable pace.
