Tricks, Puzzles & Brain Teasers!

There is plenty of “magic” in math. This book focuses on mathematical magic tricks and brain teasers that students can have real fun with. As they are taken through the tricks, students will learn the mathematics and history behind them. They will also have an opportunity to invent some mathematical tricks of their own. Some of the “tricks” that are explored are the Chinese magic square; the unavoidable total—34; the famous answer-before-the-question trick; the weird and wonderful number 6174; clever cards; and much more! Grades 4 to 6.
