This resource helps students feel comfortable (“find their feet”) about their reading, understanding and enjoyment of fiction. Sections include setting, character, plots and events, genre, and book reviewing. The purposeful, kid-friendly activities aim to help readers engage with the text in a range of ways, including appreciating what the main character might be thinking, relating an event to a personal experience or thinking about the type of genre they prefer. Grades 5–8.
